As far as Monday mornings go, Snoop is having a pretty big one.
In the very early hours of the morning, Snoop appeared on the remix of Justin Bieber's 'Peaches' along with Atlanta natives Usher and Ludacris. You can listen to that here. Now, on the business side of things, we have some huge news for the West Coast legend.
Def Jam has announced that they have appointed Snoop as their Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant. He'll be working across the entire artistic roster with a focus on A&R and creative development. He'll report to UMG Chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge and Def Jam Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Harleston.
Grainge stated his excitement about Snoop "bringing his deep industry experience, strong relationships, boundless creativity and infectious energy to Def Jam" while Harleston commented on his experience and business mindset. "I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Snoop Dogg for more than twenty years. Not only does Snoop understand what it takes to be a successful artist, he is one of the most creative, strategic and entrepreneurial people I know. Snoop has a genuine passion for the label and the culture, and we are all excited to have Snoop join the Def Jam Family."
It'll certainly be interesting to see the impact that this has on the label.
